Quick events through September

Well through out September not a lot of things have happened just usually small events like an acoustic events. Those events usually start until 6 then ends till like 10 or 11. My mentor had to talk to people that just wanted to play for the people and no money which is very difficult because a lot of bands or solo artists can be very greedy so its not easy to book. From that we had design our little stage and mark our on equipment for no body would steal it. These events are very small but they can be very busy. My mentor ship sounds lame and boring I know, but in October there is going to be a huge event which i'm looking forward too and its going to be fun meeting the photographers that are selling there pictures.

Blog 5: Pentagon

The Pentagon:
(1) Positive Statement: What positive thing happen as a result of what you have completed so far?
- What i have completed so far is actually getting comfortable with the other interns and getting use to going to the gallery. Its really fun especially when you get to meet other artists and figure how they started their career. The great thing about this is that I actually get to set up things and be involved with everybody and not feel left out.

(2) EQ Content:  Pick a piece of research or your interview.  How has it helped you improve your understanding of your topic?
- Well one of my research was actually given to me by my mentor which has a lot of information of how to run a gallery or organize it, whatever you want to be in the art business. Its very helpful and explains what to do and how to do it.
(3) What has worked for you so far in the senior project?
- Well things have been going good with almost every thing and with my hours are working well because now that I also have ROP photography it works out even more. At the gallery it helps with what people have to do and how to get to represent an artist and what their all about. Its interesting and the events are great with new talent and other photographers.
(4) What hasn't worked so far?
- Not a lot of people go through out the week so its very slow. It has specific days when its full but its rare, its mainly full on the weekends or specific days. Usually through out the week we just organize then do nothing at the end.
(5) Finding Value:
  •  What is a potential question you would like to study this year?  (working EQ)
- What is the best way to organize and advertise a photography art gallery?

Blog 4: Interview 1 set up

Who do you plan to interview? Why?
- I plan to interview my mentor Christina Franco the owner of SPACE. Her and some other interns opened SPACE but she was stuck with it the other interns left to other cities even states cause they are doing so well with careers as Christina is. She also went to San Francisco which is where i want to go to when I graduate so it would be probably easy for me to talk to her because we get a long great and really look forward to it. Are you going to ask other open ended questions besides the five? What are they?
- How was it like in SF campus and the city like?
- Do you have specific major in photography? (ex photojournalism)
-What popped in your head to create SPACE?

Blog 3: Topic Choice & Semester 1 ESLR Goals

1.Topic: Photography (Music)

2. What do you plan to do this year to show growth in each of the ESLR's? Be specific and use an example. Examples can come from senior project, model assembly, core and or participation in senior class ASB or other organization on campus.

-Ipoly Citizen- This year as the last year as being an Ipoly Citizen i'm planning to try my hardest and not goof as much. Also not to be to late for school and get rid of my test anxiety.
-Executive Leaner- This year I definitely just want the year to be over with and have my test anxiety gone and prove people that Ipoly isn't impossible just very difficult (lol). To use time wisely and procrastinate as always and just have every thing before hand.
-Effective User Of Technology- I was hoping to have a good topic and right enough information or just a large amount of it. Nothing that has commentaries which is almost everything. I just want to have a legit presentation.
-Effective Communicator- Asking a lot of questions. With Christina the owner of SPACE I ask questions on how things work and whatever else she does to get the good idea on my project. Which im pretty excited for my interview with her. Anyways I just to need to ask the right ask questions about anything with this topic and it can help with my research by expanding it.

3. (Need to know) What questions were raised because of the 10 hours of experience?  List them.
-How do you contact other artists and get them as hosts at the gallery?
-How do you contact musical guests to play at the gallery events?
-How do you decide on what project to do and how would design the gallery?

Interpretive

4. What is the most important thing you gained from this experience? Why?
Well i just been there 2 days but how I see Christina work you have to have patience and be very organized with others. It can be very slow at the gallery but then with out the patience then it wouldn't work out. With the new people i've met its fun and it gets better when actually spread the news.

Applied

5. How did what you did help you choose a topic?  Please explain.
Well I knew people there and they are very inspiring with there work and that's what I want to do be inspired wit my work. I have always had a personal interest with art and pictures, it was mainly a hobby. I just knew I want to do something great and fun. Hopefully one of these days or in the future i could be the one inspiring others.
